For Veterans Day this year, we decided to do a program to honor all those who have served in the military.
It was a very special experience to spend time preparing to entertain and celebrate our courageous loved ones.
We all wore our red, white, and blue.
Thanks to Mrs. Standing and her handy cricut for the darling sign!
We sang our hearts out!
It was sometimes hard to keep our eyes on the director, but we did our very best.
The patriotic songs were really fun to sing.
We celebrated each branch of the service, and the members in the audience stood when we sang their song. Lots of them were teary. It was great to show them that we care about them and the things they did for our country.

Mrs. Standing's class shared a poem.
Mrs. Romney's class shared information about each of the major wars in which the U.S. participated.
They had some great things to say.
Parker came back to Ensign to play Taps for us at the end of our video of the Veterans related to Ensign familes. He did a fantastic job and took the responsibility very seriously. We love to see our Ensign Alums do great things!
There is no picture of the wonderful video, or of Ms. H.'s class reciting the Gettysburg, (sorry, gang...I was leading the recitation) or the props for our "What's More American" song (again...I was leading). If some of the fabulous parents have pix, maybe we can post them here too.
Regardless, it was a wonderful event. If we could measure our success by the number of hearts we touched, we wouldn't be able to count them all. Plus, we would have to include ourselves. We learned a lot about showing respect for, and taking pride in, the great accomplishments and courageous actions of others. We are thankful for the wonderful example the men and women of the military have set for us (and I am very proud of this darling class and the spectacular job they did today!)
