Abravanel Hall!!

We had a wonderful time on our fieldtrip to hear the Utah Symphony! We got to hear the music of some wonderful composers, and we got to sing along with America, the Beautiful.
These two happened to be sitting next to Ms. H. so they had to be in the picture. Look at all the gold leafing around them. They almost seem to glow.
The chandelier's were amazing. Our docent taught us that there are 18000 crystals hanging down. 3,000 in each of the 6 chandeliers. When they were first installed, the members of the symphony guild polished each crystal before they went up.

Each section had a job to do, and the performers were amazing!

The horns were especially effective during Fanfare for the Common Man.

This was during warm-up, otherwise we are sure those violinists would not be chatting. :)
Thanks to Utah Symphony for providing this terrific experience!

ART BUDDIES!!

We are so excited to work with our art buddies from the 1st-2nd C & A class! Today we worked on friendship hands that share some of our favorite things.
There was a lot of tracing,

and sketching,

coloring,

and cutting.

It was so much fun to get together!

Just look at the concentration.

This art is serious business.

Hummm, what comes next?

We are already looking forward to next time!

Thanks art buddies! See you soon!!
