Gavin's Hair, and Gratitude

Our last day. All year long we talked about straightening Gavin's hair. Finally the day came and we almost ran out of time. Given 10 more minutes I am convinced we could have had it completely straight and flowing. Still, it was pretty awesome even mostly done. Plus, we actually managed to finish everything we had started with the exception of the Shiloh books. Next year.

I want to thank each of you and your families for a wonderful year. You students have worked hard, played hard, and learned a lot...about the things we studied, and about yourselves. You have taught me a lot too, and I will be a better teacher next year because of the things I have learned from you. Thank you for the beautiful flowers and other lovely reminders of our year together. I will think of our class every time I use them, and I will smile. I hope you each have wonderful memories of our time together, and that they will make you smile a lot too. I will miss you 6th graders, and I will be happy to see you 5th graders in the fall. Everyone have a wonderful summer, and be good!

P.S. Fifth graders, your summer PRPs are due on the second day of school. Spread the word to the other 5th graders once you read this, because I don't think the announcement was made today. (It's okay if they forget, they can just start it as soon as they get back and present the third week instead.) See you in the fall!

Fly Away

Nearing the end of the year, and like our hot air balloons, it will be time for us to fly.

Ah, Caravans. Too bad we didn't get a shot of them going Buzz, Buzz, Buzz.

Here we are at Lindsey Gardens for our annual C & A end of year picnic. It was so fun to be together! The spinning saucer has never spun so fast, and we even had a visit from John's beautiful dog! What a great day!
